The Freedom Frame
The ideal scroll frame partner for your tapestry or needlepoint kit.
The Freedom Frame is an attractive, versatile scroll frame (sometimes referred to as a roller frame), ideal for use with tapestry, canvas work and needlepoint kits. It's durable, long-lasting and made in the UK from sustainable beech. The Freedom Frame helps to keep your needlework canvas square, letting you complete your tapestry or canvas work project quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
The Freedom Frame gives you more time to enjoy your stitching. Tension is easy to apply and adjust, and there's no need to stitch your canvas on to the frame, and no fiddly wing-nuts to worry about. Even if you want to switch projects before completion, it’s easy with the Freedom Frame.
Frames are available for seven different canvas widths; 18” (45cm), 21” (53cm) & 24” (60cm) frames are supplied from stock, and 12” (30cm), 15” (38cm), 27” (68.5cm) & 30” (76.5cm) frames are available as special orders. The minimum fabric height for all frames is 12.25" (31cm).
Unlike other scroll frames, once you’ve bought the Freedom Frame there’s no need to buy a whole new frame if you need one of a different width. We can simply supply a new pair of horizontal bars, interchangeable with the side arms, in the sizes listed above. Alternatively if you need any other components, you can order them from us.
New for 2009: We have introduced a new set of extra-long side arms, ideal for stitchers wanting to work on particularly large projects without making too many rolls in the canvas. For more details, view our online store.
Still not sure if the Freedom Frame is right for you? Here's what one happy customer had to say:
"I have been stitching for many years and have tried loads of sewing frames (the discarded bits and pieces in my sewing cupboard are testament to how many I've tried) and this freedom frame is the only one I use. I stitch various different projects at once because I get bored easily and I keep buying new ones so that I can leave my work in them as they are great for storing half finished projects. They are a bit fiddly to get your material in at first but once you've mastered the art they're great - I'll be buying yet another one soon!"
